Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part II
January 7th, 2025 by Joel
  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You normally place a bet ($1 is the normal amt.) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like this are particularly appealing, they are also particularly hard to win. You might have to hit a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, picture this- you play 20 hands and make the side wager each time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game bet in place of a sucker wager. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds employing that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This takes the complete house advantage from 2.63% with one zero wheel to a huge 5.26percent in American. The one number wager has just a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much smaller house advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you play it, the casino edge can be a whopping 25%. No, that wasn’t a typo. Because of the huge set of numbers you must pick, it’s not recommended to gamble on Keno to often. A few times for fun, perhaps. But don’t waste all your cash on it or you’ll quickly find yourself bankrupt.
