  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You usually lay a wager ($1 is the usual amt.) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though big jackpots like these are very tempting, they are also incredibly hard to win. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, imagine this- you play 20 hands and put the side wager each time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker wager. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with greater odds utilizing that twenty dollars.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This takes the overall casino advantage from 2percent with a single zero wheel to a huge 5% in American. The individual number wager has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you wager on it, the casino edge can be a huge twenty-five percent. No, that was not a typo. Due to the huge set of numbers you have to pick, it’s not advisable to wager on Keno very much. A few times for enjoyment, maybe. But don’t spend all your cash on it or you’ll immediately discover yourself beaten.
