Online Casino Sucker Bets — Part II
June 20th, 2010 by Joel
  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You typically put a wager (a dollar is the normal amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that could reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Although huge jackpots like this are extremely alluring, they’re also particularly difficult to win. You would need to hit a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, picture this- you wager 20 hands and make the side wager every time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game bet instead of a sucker bet. Picture what you might have been able to win at a bet with better odds using that $20.
  • Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the overall casino advantage from 2.63% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26percent in American. The individual number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers as a substitute which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you wager on it, the casino edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that isn’t a error. Because of the large set of numbers you have to pick, it is not recommended to play Keno very much. A number of times for entertainment, maybe. But do not waste all your money on it or you will immediately discover yourself bankrupt.
